Handmade Cards
Christmas Tags - Neat & Tangled

This year I spent Christmas and New Year’s away from my family over the other side of the world, so I had to make my Christmas cards and tags a lot earlier than usual. I really love the Neat & Tangled Santa’s Wonderland and made up about 20 gift tags for my family and I to attach to our presents. I’m still fighting the jet lag so it is a perfect time to catch up on posting all the cards I missed!

These tags, and the coordinating cards I posted before Christmas were somewhat inspired by the bright and beautiful colourings of Laura Bassen when the stamps were released.

I started off with stamping the MFT Pinstripe Background with Versamark Ink on some kraft cardstock. I then die cut these with one of the MFT pierced tags, along with some white cardstock so I could make some snow banks. I only have the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders and although they don’t quite match the pierced detail on the tags, I cut these at varying heights and adhered to the tags cut from kraft to ground my characters. I stamped ‘Happy Christmas’ in Lawn Fawn Lobster ink on a small selection of the snowbanks, and for the others I gold heat embossed the sentiment onto red cardstock and die cut it using a Lawn Fawn Banner die.

Next, I stamped a bunch of characters from the Neat & Tangled Santa’s Wonderland stamp set (I ended up making about 25 tags so it felt like I was colouring these for days!) onto some Bristol Smooth paper and coloured them in with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers. If I was doing this again I might use another type of paper or colouring medium as the Bristol paper is not as bright white as the cardstock. Still, I think they look really cute after I cut out the characters with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the snowbanks.

To finish, I punched a hole in the top of the tags and used the small circle reinforcements from the Lawn Fawn Tag, You’re It dies. Some Lawn Fawn twine in coordinating festive red and green colours helped to finish them off. Of course, I had to add a bit of Spectrum Noir Sparkle over the accessories to finish off these cute tags.

Thanks for reading and happy crafting!
